Frozen Berries from Egypt

IQF frozen strawberries from Egypt in 10 kg bulk cartons – Egy Berries

In short. The berry Egypt exports frozen is the strawberry. That is the berry we grow, freeze and ship — IQF, whole or diced, harvested December to June and delivered from our cold stores all year. We do not pack blueberries, raspberries, blackcurrants or mixed-berry blends. If that is what you are sourcing, Egypt is not the origin for it, and we would rather say so than take an enquiry we cannot fill.

Which berries Egypt actually exports frozen

When a buyer asks for frozen berries from Egypt, in practice they are asking about strawberries. Egypt is the largest supplier of frozen strawberries to Germany: 81,900 tonnes between January and November 2025, about 70% of German imports and 61% more than the year before, according to EastFruit. Poland imported 62,200 tonnes from Egypt in 2025, a 73.6% share of its supply.

Blueberries, raspberries and currants are a different crop and a different story. They are not frozen in Egypt at anything approaching that scale, and they are not part of our range. A supplier who offers you every berry from one Egyptian factory is usually trading someone else’s product, which is worth knowing before you place an order.

Why buyers source frozen strawberries from Egypt

Season. The Egyptian harvest runs December to June, which covers the months when Northern Hemisphere crops are out of the field. Buyers use it to hold supply steady rather than to replace a local crop.

Scale and continuity. The volumes above are why Egypt has been Germany’s largest supplier since 2019. For an importer that means the origin can carry a programme, not just a spot container.

Compliance. We are certified to FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, HACCP and GLOBALG.A.P., registered with the US FDA and China GACC, and our production follows BRCGS practices.

What moves the price. Calibre, whole versus diced, pack format, where in the season you contract, and freight. We quote per order rather than publishing a price list, because those five things change the number more than anything else.

Frequently asked questions

Which berries does Egy Berries supply frozen?

Strawberries, whole and diced. We do not pack blueberries, raspberries, blackcurrants or mixed-berry blends, because those are not crops Egypt freezes at export scale.

What is the HS code for frozen strawberries?

0811 10 at the international six-digit level. In the EU, unsweetened frozen strawberries normally fall under CN 0811 10 90. The last digits depend on your destination, so confirm the full code with your customs broker.

When are Egyptian strawberries harvested and frozen?

From December to June. They are frozen in season and shipped from our cold stores throughout the year, so you can contract outside the harvest window.

Can I buy frozen strawberries from Egypt in bulk?

Yes. Bulk is 1 × 10 kg cartons, roughly 24–26 tonnes in a 40-foot reefer. Food service packs, 400 g retail bags and private label are also available.
